Applications for Nottingham Creative Fringe
This year will be the first of what is planned to be a twice yearly event to showcase new creative talent in Nottingham. It will be an opportunity catered specifically for new businesses and the best graduate artists and makers of the last few years. There will be up to 30 large covered stalls available in full or to share. There will be live music from a new local record label, plus street food and fine coffee.
Applicants for creative stalls must have been trading or exhibiting for under 5 years, but there is no age limit as we support those looking for a career change later in life.
For our debut event we’re taking over Sneinton Market on a Saturday afternoon after the veg market has finished. It will run from 2.30pm to 6.30pm on the 6th September 2014.
The event will be co-organised by two local businesses – Bees Make Honey Creative Community and Merkato.
The cost will be £25 for a full size stall or £12.50 for half a stall (if you want to share with another specific applicant, let us know). The stalls are 10ft x 4 ft with a table and weatherproof cover. You will need to provide table covering and are encouraged to decorate your stalls. If you would like to also have a clothing rail, please let us know and we can try to allocate you an appropriate stall.
If you wish to run a food stall the cost is £30 if this includes electric hook-up (or £25 for cold food), food vans are permitted if they have adequate drip trays.
If you don’t have your own Public Liability Insurance (P.L.I.), this will be an additional £2.
While there will be a traditional ‘craft fair’ element to the event, we are also keen for a broader spectrum of creative stalls/exhibits – e.g. photography, fine art, fashion & textile design, performance, records &CDs, books & publications. We are not looking for businesses selling vintage/2nd hand goods unless this has another element (e.g. upcyled, or a mixture of old and new things). Applications must take into account the open air element to the market. We plan for the next event to be an indoor one, so will be more flexible in this manner.
Food stalls do not have to be new businesses, but we will favour those that are. If you wish to apply for a food-based stall we will need to see appropriate paperwork (hygiene certificates) and any electrical items must be pat tested. Please note due to licensing restrictions on Sneinton Market, alcohol cannot be sold unless we meet various criteria.
If you wish to apply for a spot at Nottingham Creative Fringe please email for an application form: email@example.com.
Please note this doesn’t guarantee a spot at the market. Cheques will only be cashed if your application is successful. If you cannot provide a cheque please contact us and we will arrange other means.
The deadline for applications has now been extended to 12th August 2014.
